‘You don’t resolve loss, you will discover improved ways to weave it into your everyday existence’

 Grief at work

Employers and managers are recognizing the growing significance of their employees' emotional well-being in contributing to overall performance. They understand that individuals bring their personal experiences to the workplace daily. In today's organizational landscape, there is a desire to stand out by prioritizing and fostering personal growth and development.

Being an excellent employer goes beyond supporting employees during the good days when they can develop new skills. It extends to the challenging moments when they face significant losses. A sound employment practice involves understanding the needs of mourning employees. This approach creates a win-win situation, where the grieving employee feels supported, perceiving the work environment as a safe space to recover from the depths of grief. Simultaneously, the employer avoids concerns about reduced productivity or prolonged sickness absence.

I collaborate with organizations to facilitate progress. My services include tailored training sessions on effectively managing a grieving employee and maintaining employee engagement during challenging periods. The content is customized to address the specific needs of your organization.

 Grief at School

Children and teens experience grief in distinct ways compared to adults. A significant loss can disrupt their once-stable lives, whether it be the loss of a loved one or the challenges arising from parental divorce or illness. Coping with such changes can impact their confidence and sense of security. Students in grief require support and understanding from those in their environment, including at school.

                                                 Primary School

For the primary school I developed the training 'The treasure box of life. Dealing with grief, loss and death in primary school.'
It provides tools for school counsellors and teachers to support children who have faced a major loss in their lives. The training can be customised.

Secondary School

Experiencing a major loss during puberty is difficult. There is so much going on in a teenager's life that coping with a loss can be hard. Especially at school; they don't want to be different from their classmates. The training Till Death Do Us Part is developed for teenagers at school. The goal is to make them more open about grief. The training also teaches them how to deal with a grieving friend.

For school counsellors, the training 'The treasure box of life. Dealing with grief, loss and death in secondary school' is customised for the specific group and grade.
